About Bright

The township of Bright is situated in the North East of Victoria, only a 3.5 hour drive from Melbourne and approximately 8.5 hours from Sydney. This makes it easy for visitors from all around Australia and our overseas visitors to find their way to our colourful town. With a rich history of mining there is plenty to learn with information plaques scattered along many of our local walks and an array of information provided in the Bright Library.

If it’s not so much the history rather the scenery that you are interested there are numerous walking tracks up through the mountains creating magical atmospheres and views that go on for miles. Depending on the weather it’s also worth seeing the scenery from the sky with adventure activities available such as paragliding or microlight flights.
