The Buckland - Studio Retreat features luxury accommodation for couples tucked away in the picturesque Buckland Valley close to Bright, Mt.Hotham and Mt.Buffalo. The 4 studios are each a contemporary retreat designed just for two. A romantic escape for a honeymoon, anniversary, special occasion or just a weekend (or week) away from it all.They are set well apart from each other to ensure complete privacy. Each has an open living area with stylish cord and leather furniture and bedrooms featuring custom build king size Queensland walnut timber beds. Funky bathrooms with double rain water showers and full glass walls allow private bush views..... just watch the peeping wombats.

Apart from the focus on luxury and creature comforts, the design of the buildings is also energy efficient and eco-friendly. Using green energy, heat exchange pumps for hot water, double glazing and total wrap-around insulation, the retreats are environmentally sustainable without making concessions to the comfort of their guests.

No corners have been cut here - goose down doonas, espresso coffee machine, seductive mood lighting, plush robes and relaxing L’Occitane aromatherapy hair and body products - this is the Art of Indulgence!

Each studio has two private decks and a well equipped kitchen. Continental breakfast buffet at The Buckland - Cafe on the premises is included in all rates.

Set amid 40 acres of rolling countryside, adjoining lush bush land, the studios offer amazing views over the surrounding vineyards & chestnut groves to Mt Buffalo. This tranquil setting is only 10 minutes drive to Bright.

Directions: From Melbourne: Hume Hwy to Milawa exit (exit after the large BP service station/McDonalds on either side of the Hwy at Glenrowan). Follow signs to Milawa (the Milawa cheese factory has a nice café/restaurant, a cellar door for a local winery and an art gallery and is always worth a visit), then to Myrtleford. From Myrtleford follow the great Alpine road towards Bright. BEFORE you get to Bright you come to a small township by the name of Porepunkah. At the large roundabout (there is only one, you can’t miss it) take the second exit into the Buckland Valley. Follow the Buckland Valley road for 6 km and turn left into McCormack’s lane. We are at the end of McCormack’s lane on the right. If you cross the bridge at Devils Creek and/or pass by Villa Gusto you’ve gone too far. From Sydney/Albury/Wodonga: Hume Hwy to exit Wangaratta/Great Alpine Road. Follow Great Alpine Road to Myrtleford. From Mytleford same as above.

MEDIA REVIEW: The Age Travel Short Breaks, 11th of March 2006 “A touch of little Italy”, the verdict by Jane Faulkner: The Buckland Studio Retreat is the epitome of luxury, comfort and style set in perfect surround of this bucolic valley. It was lovely surprise to find the website actually corresponded to what on offer – “eco-friendly design, stylish, contemporary interior, nature-inspired hues, stunning views and complete privacy”. I certainly didn’t want to leave, but I’m coming back. A sentiment echoed by everyone who had written in the guest book. Just waiting for the café to open. Hurry up.
