Merrimeet is the ideal getaway for couples to celebrate a special occasion, to explore the beauty of the Alpine High Country in North East Victoria, or to simply relax and do nothing.
Set in a hectare of English woodland garden on the banks of the Ovens River, Merrimeet is a Tudor grand house accompanied by three mews garden apartments and three riverbank cottages.
This elegant self-contained accommodation has been developed in the extensive grounds of one of Brights most distinctive homes. A few minutes stroll along the path by the river will take you to the heart of Bright village with its cafes, restaurants and gift shops.
Merrimeet has featured in a number of newspaper and magazine articles, most particularly in a feature article on Bright in Country Style magazine. Merrimeet is also an invited participant in the Australian Open Garden Scheme and is frequently the choice of local brides for their wedding photos.

Feeling the heat - relax in our shaded woodland gardens or stroll down to the river and sit with your feet in the water and cool off. The river is quite high for this time of year and we have two great swimming holes right at the bottom of our garden. |

Cancellation Policy / Terms & Conditions
When deposits are received it is accapted as a 2-way contract. We will honour your booking and expect you to do the same.
However if circumstances necessitate a cancellation deposits will be refunded if reasonable notice is given - 1 months notice full return
- 2 weeks notice half return and
- 1 weeks notice forfeit deposit.
When a cancelled booking is re-booked by us we will return the deposit less a $25 administration fee.
